The Concordia
- Project Description
The Concordia is an engineering school, designed to foster collaboration to enhance shared learning. “Concordia” is the Latin word for harmony and concurrence, which relates to the close interactions between both the users and the spaces. The intent is to facilitate interaction through shared learning spaces to bridge theory and practice to exchange ideas.
Collaboration comes in the form of student, teacher and industry, creating spaces for all to efficiently share ideas.
Furthermore, Shared learning is seen between industry, labs and classes, bridging theory and practice to exchange ideas.
The current Electrical and Electronic Engineering school building has an insufficient variety of spaces for students to meet together to learn and collaborate. This causes many students to leave school immediately after their lessons, causing a lack of interaction for learning and collaborating.
The design tackles the need for a variety of spaces for learning, providing spaces that suit the needs of all students, encouraging them to stay in school even after lessons. This promotes both interaction and school identity, creating a conducive and inclusive school for all.
