Bo-ronoi Library

    Project Description

This project is about the redesign of Ang Mo Kio Public Library, transforming it into a dynamic community hub that goes beyond being just a place to read books. The new design incorporates indoor plants and outdoor reading areas to connect visitors with nature, while large windows and skylights maximize natural light to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Open, flexible spaces with comfortable seating will support a variety of activities and events.

The design concept is inspired by the velamen cells of the staghorn fern, which cling to uneven surfaces and change in size as they move toward the center from larger to smaller. In this project, larger cells represent higher levels and smaller ones represent lower levels. Using this idea, I created a slope that transitions from high to low, starting from the rooftop and gradually sinking to the ground level.
