- Project Description
Singapore is a land scarce nation, which makes land designated for agriculture seems like a luxury. Therefore, more than 90% of vegetables are imported from other countries. Although Singapore has already encouraged residents to do community gardens and gardening with edibles at home, its effect is not significant. The project aims to enhance people’s consciousness of self- sufficiency and protecting the environment through practical activities and workshops. It is also a good platform to provide vegetables for the restaurants near the site to reduce the carbon footprint during delivery. The programme includes discussion areas, professional farms, personal farms, and kitchens for visitors to learn and experience. Also, equipment such as enhanced CCTVs and QR codes will leverage on technology to monitor the entire growing process of the plants and edibles.
